In 2004 VJ Supreme Cuisine and DJ Mel set up a joint venture called “Off the Wall” which translates into an audio-visual experience never seen before. They collected more than a thousand video-clips, video-animations and concert-excerpts from four decades of music, and found a way to successfully link the musical footage to the club scene. Armed with two Pioneer DVJ-X1 DVD players, audio- and video-equalizers and special effect equipment, “Off the Wall” rocks the dance floor like no one ever did before. Image and sound are manipulated so that sampling, scratching and mixing occur perfectly synchronized.

DJ Mel and VJ Supreme Cuisine have a great appreciation for anything with a beat, their mutual love for music is the basis of a profound friendship that was born in 1988.
Mel dabbles as a DJ; playing clubs like Escape, iT and Jimmy Woo. He also performed at Holland’s major pop events and theaters like Lowlands, Racism Beat It, Paradiso and Nighttown. He was the house DJ of the Comedy Company starring Jan Jaap van der Wal, Howard Komproe, Najib Amhali and many others.

Supreme Cuisine’s talent lies in the VJ-spectrum. He’s contributed his visual art to major festivals, concerts and events in the Netherlands, the USA, Finland and Brussels. His greatest accomplishments include North Sea Jazz Festival, IDFA and Mysteryland. He has enhanced the concerts of Run DMC, The Last Poets, Premier, Spinna, Biz Markie, Jazzy Jeff and many others by adding visuals. And he performs his magic at Dutch clubs like Paradiso, Melkweg and Nighttown.

A revolutionary new ‘club scene species’ is born: the ‘Urban Eclectic DVD DJ’. Mel and Supreme Cuisine are the innovators and they explore the boundaries of the world of sound… accompanied by image. The DJ has rocked the crowd for decades, but “Off the Wall” will raise the roof with a new spin.
